CAMPAIGN 800 is a fundraising and marketing platform designed to meet the needs of 800 children on the waiting list, with love and interest for learning music at the Fender Center. This fundraising initiative will ensure growth and sustainability of the Kids Rock Free® program for future generations.

CAMPAIGN 800 is a three-year fundraising initiative which has ignited the interest of world-renowned performing artists, individuals, corporations and earned the support of The John F. Kennedy for the Performing Arts Center, pursuant to their
AIC mentoring program.

In a time when many public education facilities are forced to reduce or eliminate music education programs, the CAMPAIGN 800 initiative offers an alternate high-quality music education experience by growing and expanding the services offered by the Fender Center.
The Fender Center is mounting this campaign to increase access to the arts, especially for children through free and low-cost music education in piano, guitar, bass, drums, vocal performance, and combo band. The Fender Center’s role as a community resource has exploded and CAMPAIGN 800 will help alleviate the void created by diminishing music education resources.
Facts and Insights on the Benefits of Music Study
Research shows that children who study music do better in school, showing improvements in SAT scores, successful life skill development, and a greater likelihood of attending college.

Students of the arts continue to outperform their non-arts peers on the SAT, according to reports by the College Entrance Examination Board. In 2006, SAT takers with coursework/experience in music performance scored 57 points higher on the verbal portion of the test and 43 points higher on the math portion than students with no coursework or experience in the arts. Data show that high earnings are not just associated with people who have high technical skills. In fact, mastery of the arts and humanities is just as closely correlated with high earnings, and, according to our analysis, that will continue to be true. History, music, drawing, and painting, and economics will give our students an edge just as surely as math and science will. – Tough Choices or Tough Times: The report of the new commission on the skills of the American workforce, 2007, page 29; www.skillscommission.org

Students with band and orchestra experience attend college at a rate twice the national average. - Bands Across the USA

“The life of the arts, far from being an interruption, a distraction, in the life of the nation, is close to the center of a nation’s purpose - and is a test to the quality of a nation’s civilization.” – John F. Kennedy
